‘Chai’ Time

There is chill in the air !

And I like to savour a fragrant cup of Ginger and Turmeric tea or any herbal or spiced tea this time of the year for all good reasons.

Tea offers a wide selection, there is one for everyone. I like mine brewed with 1/4 of a teaspoon of ginger-turmeric powder mix not just for the aroma and taste, but, for its health benefits.

Ginger and Turmeric both have medicinal properties. They are rich in antioxidants and help in building immune system of the body. These spices reduce inflammation , relieve pain , improve digestion and their extracts inhibit the growth of cancer cells .

Thus a good cup of the spiced tea will keep you warm and fit against the sharp weather outdoors. And when you are enjoying a pleasant moment like this why not ask for more. My beloved cup of tea awaits an accompaniment in this weather. A plate of vegetable fritters aka pakoras makes my winter evening more relaxed and snug. Just in case I am not in the mood for a deep fried treat, scrambled egg on toast comes next to give my tea a congenial company.
